Overall, our three projects (timeline, graphs, facilities) demonstrate how much Carleton has, and continues to value the sciences. From the graphs project it is evident that since its inception in 1867, Carleton has been committed continually increasing and diversifying the number of science courses offered. Additionally, from the timeline and facilities projects, it is clear that Carleton has historically invested in a new science facility about every 30-40 years; this trend continues with the new integrated science facility scheduled for completion in 2020. Additionally it is clear that these investments have not been made without demand, as students majoring or minoring in scientific fields makes up a third (33.45%) of the current junior (’20) and senior (’19) classes.
